WE WANT YOU TO BE SAFE
WEB3 is fun – mainly for the digital equivalent of the wild west feeling. We want our community members to be safe from experiences that can ruin our days.
We intend to keep you safe from impostors, phishing attacks and other exploitations. We have accumulated a small collection of guidelines to make your experience safe and fun.
There is only a limited amount of social media channels officially managed by F-0x. In order to not fall for fake accounts, only use the following collection of links.
Community safety
There are a few rules for community safety which will allow all of us to have a great time together without having members fall for scams, attacks and criminal activities.
Here are some tips about how you can be save in our crypto communities:
NEVER SEND FUNDS
We will never ask for funds to be sent in order to be eligible to win a price or get more funds back. Never send funds to anyone you do not know nor to anyone who tells you that they will make you more money with your initial funds.
There are numerous scams currently going on, which all intend to lure investors to send funds with the expected outcome of earning more money back.
Sometimes those attacks also happen from hacked official accounts on Twitter (Like the infamous Elon Musk incident) or other social media platforms, so always keep your eyes wide open.
BEWARE OF IMPOSTORS
If you are a member of one of our private or open discord or telegram communities, you will very likely be messaged by one an account that uses the the profile picture and a name derivate of one of our team members.
In order to not fall for scams, ALWAYS double-check the correct spelling of the name and check with the official admin accounts of the discord / telegram community. All of our official managers will have admin-status in our communities.
No admin will ever pressure you for any data or be hesistant to offer proof of membership.
NEVER SEND YOUR PRIVATE KEYS - EVER
There is never a reason why some random person on the internet will need the private keys of your wallet. You will not need to enter your private key to mint any NFT, neither to fix stuck funds or receive gifts or airdrops from someone.
Every website or community member that asks for your private keys is to be categorized as a scam and should be reported to the admins of the platform.
NEVER SEND IDENTIFING INFORMATION
MINT SAFETY
The most things can go wrong during the active mint phase of any project. We introduce you to the process we have chosen and how you can avoid problems during the cirtical phases.
ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK URLS
One of the most problematic experiences are copies of the official mint website that have a very similar UI but have no real utility other than to get a connection to your wallet, approve token trading with their connected contract and empty your wallet.
Always check the address bar of your browser and see wether you are on the right website. For the F-0x mint, the website to mint will be pinned on all of our social media posts and will include a reference to the authentified contract on Etherscan.
NEVER CONNECT YOUR WALLET TO THIRD PARTIES
During the mint process, there will be advertisements from third parties that will promise you a F-0x NFT for less money, for free or offer gas-free swaps for ETH of your NFT above market price.
Those offers are completely fake – Never connect your wallet to a website that offers similar services.
BEWARE OF MINTLIST SPOT TRADING
We give away early mintlist spots for community supporters, that follow our ways from 0 to something. These OG roles are accredited with mintlist spots as well as randomly chosen applicants that use our application form for a mintlist spot.
Only those, that have received their spots directly from the team are eligible to mint a F-0x in the mint phase. Some members will choose to sell / trade their mintlist spots for high prices in order to make a quick profit.
Our advice: Do not buy mintlist spots from other members at all and if you do, do not overspend too much. You will be able to get a F-0x on third party trading platforms after the mint phase is finished or interact with the community in an extensive way and we might reward you.
OPENSEA CURRENCY CONFUSION
Beware of fake offers on OpenSea!
A lot of people have lost their highly valued posessions due to confusions in the offered currency for their NFTs. The DAI logo looks surprisingly similar to the ETH logo, especially in small icons on OpenSea.
You would not be the first to sell a 50 ETH NFT for 50 DAI. Always check the offered currency and take a second look when in doubt. Nothing will make you feel as empty as fat-fingering thousands of dollars away.
